About Me

In the modern day of hyper-specialization, I am a Jack of All Trades. The one I put by my name, though, is that of Web Developer. I’ve been wrangling HTML since the very early days of the World Wide Web itself. My first web page was written in Notepad, and viewed in the Mosiac web browser. 2002 was the first year I was actually paid to do web development, back when we used tables for laying out pages and we weren’t sure whether CSS was ever going to catch on.

Web Developer

Today, I proudly call myself a Web Developer. This occupation has brought me experience in many wonderful businesses along the way, and a decade of immersion in the open source community. I have been very fortunate to build a strong skillset and gain valuable experience, both of a technical and business nature. At this stage of my career I am seeking opportunities to use my skills and experience to maximize business impact. I am also an entrepreneur, actively seeking opportunities to start new ventures, knowing that new businesses are the key to success and renewal in the global economy.

As a web developer my primary experience has been in a Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP environment. I have a strong background working with Drupal, WordPress, and Magento. Most recently I have been responsible for mission critical installs of WordPress and Magento. I have extensive experience with front end development as well (HTML/CSS), including JavaScript development, creating AJAX interfaces using libraries such as JQuery.

Business Experience

My business experience is in the consumer retail and engineering services sectors. I have worked with high-performing companies both large and small (Fortune 50 to Inc. 5000) in the consumer retail sector, including e-commerce. I have also worked with service oriented companies where client service and domain expertise are paramount. I’m not sure which I find more appealing. I simply love getting things done for people.
